This bride’s in a class of her own — and she’s got the schoolgirl ‘fit to prove it.
While most little girls dream of one day sauntering down the aisle towards their mate in lavishly luxe, all-white dress, a wife-to-be marching to the beat of her own drum decided to ditch traditional wedding finery for her high school uniform.
It’s a masterclass in pupil pizzazz.
The Chinese newlywed, who chose not to disclose her identity to AsiaWire, reportedly opted to rock the outré look — made complete with a long sleeve pull-over sweater, a pair of black trousers, black shoes and her hair causally coiffed into a ponytail — as a nod to the first day she and her groom met, which was 11 years ago in secondary school.
Although the longtime lovebirds had remained an item beyond graduation, the bride and her groom, whose identity was also withheld, lived in separate countries for a period of time. The long distance put a strain on their romance, causing the pair to endure a series of “difficulties” that they struggled to overcome.
Hoping to recreate the magic of their puppy love, the sentimental bride chose to forgo a puffy gown for her school togs to remind her guy that she‘s still the same girl who once won his teenage heart.
The alma mater gear sent her hubby to tears.
“At that moment, everything felt so familiar, I had expected to see her in a wedding dress; instead, I was greeted by the girl I fell in love with 11 years ago,” said the groom in a social media clip shared to Douyin, China’s version of TikTok. “I’m overwhelmed with gratitude that we’ve made it to this day.”
The schoolday sweetheart isn’t the only daring darling to wow in avant-garde glam for her big day.
Millennial bride Kaila Gilbert Zimmerman, from Chicago, stunned in a pair of loose-fitting pajamas during her July 2023 nuptials.
And in January 2020, author Amanda Knox, 36 — who spent years in an Italian jail after being accused of aiding in the 2007 murder of a woman during a sex game gone wrong — shared a snap of herself wearing her prison uniform in preparation for her wedding to Christopher Robinson.
“40 days left until the wedding and 267 tasks left on the wedding To Do list,” Knox captioned the since-deleted image posted to Instagram. “I’ve locked myself in the craftroom and I’m wearing my old prison uniform.”
The then bride-to-be added of the penitentiary apparel, “Literally the very same sweatshirt and sweatpants I lived in in Casa Circondariale Capanne, Perugia.”
