Creepy clown terrifying Scottish town, dares police to catch them: ‘Needs to be stopped’

Talk about clowning around before Halloween.

A creepy clown is terrorizing a Scottish town and is taunting local police to capture them in a game of cat and mouse because he “wants to play,” according to Sky News.

The person — dressed as Stephen King’s “Pennywise the Dancing Clown”, wearing red hair, collar, ruffled leggings — often holds the infamous red balloon as he parades around in the street during the night.

“Well, well, well, I’ve made the news again. Should I smile for the cameras with my hideous grin?” a distorted voice said in a Facebook post titled, “A message to the media.”

The outlet reported the clown uses a Facebook account under the name Cole Deimos, and allegedly threatened those around Skelmorlie, a town located 35 miles from the country’s capital of Edinburgh.

The town has about a population of 2,000 people.

The account’s biography section states the clown is originally from Hell, Michigan, attended Hellgate High School in Montana, and studied at Clown School before becoming self-employed.

“Whoever this is they are scaring everybody – he needs to be stopped,” a local father-of-two said, according to the Independent. “Someone needs to have a word with him before the police get involved or he really terrifies someone. He could give someone a heart attack.”

The creepy clown dubbed the “Skelmorlie Clown,” posted a video to Facebook calling out the media and challenging the police.

The outlet reports police in Scotland are aware of the videos, but have not received reports.

Throughout the video, the clown reads out alleged old Facebook comments before responding to them in his creepy monologue.

“‘The police have been informed,’ do you think that I care? They’d have to catch me first anyway, and yes, that’s a dare,” he said.

“Don’t believe what you are told. This clown doesn’t want fame, glory or gold, he just wants to play, in this so-called ‘sleepy town,'” he added. “So come and join in and learn to fear The Skelmorlie Clown.”

The “creepy clown” viral trend notably surfaced in 2016.

The unhinged clowns even made threats to several schools in New York, forcing two Long Island districts to go into lockdown.

While users speculate whether the stunt is a prank and a legitimate threat, social media users had mixed reactions to the “Skelmorlie Clown.”

“I take it you are unemployed!!! You need to grow up it’s pathetic,” one commenter replied.

“A grown person who enjoys scaring children. Pretty lame and pathetic,” another chimed in.

“Love this if I ever see you Cole can I get a selfie with you love clowns, another user said.

ROFL. It’s all spooky and then the Scottish accent kicks in and it has me in stitches. All I can hear is (I’m Gonna Be (500 miles) the Proclaimers.) a fifth person wrote before saying. “My theory is he is the unknown third member of the Proclaimers or Spud from Trainspotting. Either way, it’s harmless fun.”

“Penny wise with a Scottish accent is by far the funniest thing,” another replied.
