Colorado vs. Stanford prediction: College football picks, odds

The momentum has slowed down a bit in Boulder with Deion Sanders and his Colorado football program after a fast start.

The Buffaloes sprinted to a 3-0 record out of the gate in Coach Prime’s first season, but losses to Pac-12 powers Oregon and USC seemed to quiet things.

Colorado rebounded with a comeback victory at Arizona State last week for the Buffs’ first conference win before they welcome in Stanford on Friday.

It will be another raucous atmosphere at Faurot Field as the Cardinal are fresh off a bye week.

Stanford has stumbled to a 1-4 start, including conference losses to USC, Arizona and Oregon.

The Cardinal covered in a close loss to Arizona but were outscored 98-6 in the defeats to the Trojans and Ducks.

Colorado’s star two-way player Travis Hunter is cleared to return after missing the last three games with a liver injury.

Hunter’s presence will definitely help the Buffaloes on both sides of the ball, as Colorado has topped the 36-point mark in all three home games this season.

Stanford hasn’t faced Colorado since 2020 when the Buffs picked up a 35-32 win as 10-point road underdogs.

Now, CU is a double-digit favorite for the second time this season after it failed to cover as 22-point chalk in an overtime win over state rival Colorado State.

Although Colorado’s defense has struggled this season, this is the weakest offense it has seen in Pac-12 play, so laying the points with the Buffs makes sense here.

The play: Colorado -11.5.
