Phillies vs. Diamondbacks odds: NLCS series picks, preview, predictions

The National League Championship Series is set.

And just as everyone expected, the Diamondbacks will take on the Phillies.

Unsurprisingly, Philadelphia opened as a heavy favorite to make their second straight World Series, sitting at -178 to take the series from Arizona.

The D-backs, who have upset the Brewers and Dodgers en route to the NLCS, are just +150 to make the World Series and are, by far, the biggest long shot to win it all.

Both teams had to make their way through the wild card round.

The D-backs, who won just 84 games during the regular season, took two straight games from Milwaukee before sweeping the mighty Dodgers in the NLDS.

The Phillies made quick work of the Marlins and then beat the 104-win Braves in four games during the NLDS for the second straight year.

Philadelphia is +200 to win the World Series at FanDuel Sportsbook, which are the second-best odds behind the defending champion Houston Astros (+185).

The D-backs have, by far, the worst odds to win it all despite their unexpected playoff run at +480, which is a step behind the Rangers who sit at +300.

Philadelphia has the deepest pitching staff, bigger bats and more star power, but the frisky D-backs have a ton of speed up and down their lineup and play incredible defense, so they can’t be counted out.

But the D-backs’ Cinderella run is bound to end, and in a longer series, I like the more well-rounded team to win, so stick with the Fightin’ Phils.

THE PLAY: Phillies -178
